Fuse box upgrades
Replace an old fuse box or plastic consumer unit with a modern, regulation-compliant metal board — RCD or RCBO protection on every circuit, surge protection, fully tested and certified.

It’s worth upgrading if any of these sound familiar:
Most fuseboard changes take between half a day and a full day. We test the existing circuits first so there are no surprises, the power is off while the new board goes in, and we leave everything working, labelled and tidied up.
Because we’re NAPIT registered, we can self-certify the work and notify building control for you — you’ll receive the certificate shortly afterwards.

Our prices start from £550 supplied and fitted. The final price depends on the number of circuits, whether RCBOs are used and whether earthing or bonding needs upgrading — we confirm a fixed price before starting.
The wiring regulations require consumer units in homes to be made of non-combustible material, which in practice means metal, to contain any fire caused by a fault.
An RCD protects a group of circuits; an RCBO protects one circuit on its own. With RCBOs, a fault on one circuit won’t switch off the rest of the house.
Sometimes. Modern protection is more sensitive, so we test every circuit before swapping the board and tell you about anything we find first.
Yes — an Electrical Installation Certificate, and the job is notified to building control through NAPIT.
